Hi All!

Find Your Season

This world has so much to offer and so much to explore.

It can be tempting to try and fulfill every instance of curiosity you have.

You get interested in something new and you want to put all your energy and focus into it without giving up what you are already doing.

Go all-in on traveling.

Go all-in on learning that new skill.

Go all-in on your new fitness plan.

The list can go on.

Unfortunately, as tempting as this is, it’s impossible to go all-in in every area of life at all times.

So what is the curious and ambitious person to do instead?

Approach life in seasons.

What do I mean by this?

Dedicate a specific amount of time — a season — toward a certain area of your life you want to focus on.

Say for example, that area is self-care.

You will still have to work.

You still have family to love and care for.

But, your top priority for this season is yourself.

When this season ends, you will be better for it and can go full force in another area.

The length of a season is completely up to you.

Maybe you just need a week to center yourself.

Or maybe you need a few months to really focus on getting healthy both mentally and physically.

The key is being clear on where you dedicate your focus because your focus defines you.

It molds you.

Where you put your energy will determine your outcomes so be protective of it and use it wisely.

This seasonal approach doesn’t have to only benefit you either.

Take the above example — for the next month you are focusing on self-care.

Don’t just be clear about that to yourself.

Let your loved ones know too.

It may spark them to improve themselves.

If not, it should at the very least help them understand where your focus will be for the next month.

They will give you grace if you’re a little more distant than normal because you were clear about your intentions upfront and they understand it is only temporary.

Trying to get the most out of every area of life every single day is a losing game.

You will see far greater results and feel less overwhelmed by having a clear focus and doing that one thing really well.

What season do you need right now?

How can you set yourself up to get the most out of that season?

Ask yourself these questions and get extremely clear about your goals.

I think you’ll be happy with the results.

Words of Wisdom

“Energy is the essence of life. Every day you decide how you’re going to use it by knowing what you want and what it takes to reach that goal, and by maintaining focus.”
